Today the world’s biggest topic is a pandemic but not limited to this health issue because we do have another global pandemic that exists from centuries; the Racism. The world was, is, and will be into an immense identity crisis. To know why follow the topic ‘The Inevitable Identity’. For now, lets head straight to the real race of Race!
Before we begin, lets fly straight to the United States. Trust me, it won’t be fair if you ever publish a thing with NO USA related topics involved. You might be embarrassed but the USA is the only place in the world where there is NO DIVISION at all based on any Race or Ethnic groups. But wait! I didn’t tell this. Eric Kaufmann, the author of ‘Whiteshift: Populism, Immigration and the Future of White Majorities.’ claimed in The New York Times that “Americans are divided by their views on Race, Not Race Itself.”
This is quite confusing but yes there’s no place in the world that is completely free from racism. It’s barely about the color of skin but there are so many other factors that nurture hatred feelings among people from other groups. Talk about gender, ethnicity, faith, values, origin, beliefs or money, you’ll find a way out to find a difference in another body or soul. Every individual has a different perspective and vision which doesn’t have to be what you regard. But this fact has always been limited to words as the behavioral changes are rare and restful. Besides, a human always has the desire to be the supreme of all in at least some way; why not it be about expressing humanity itself. So the inhumane actions in the name of competitiveness just fuels the race of Race than calming it down.
Let me list a few question that’s always a hot topic in at least some part of this world.
Are all Muslims terrorists?
Who lived here before?
Are you a boy or a girl?
Are you speaking Spanish?
why aren’t there more boy teachers?
Are you an upper-caste guy?
Do Tibetan hate China?
Do you follow Roman Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy?
Are your poor?
None of these questions will ever fade away cause these are not the topics generated by ordinary people but the people in and with power. Bitter truth is that no politics lasts till it carries agendas that hits the sentiment of the people especially linked with their existence. The worst part is that the people into politics with dark vision always play with people’s identity to raise chaos leading to crisis.
Love is blind, and a deaf-mute too. But there are places where this shall not hold true. In a rural district of Nepal, a to be couple got a harsh separation with life and death just because of caste differences. Dalits were killed and justice got murdered and the racism got fueled!
I used to wonder why the racism race doesn’t ever calms down with so many people into human rights and all. UN alone allocates roughly over US$116.4 million for Human Rights. Yet the activists themselves have been lured with a lot of money and have been defaming the phrases and feelings relating to humanity and human rights. Ask yourself, are you part of selective activism that promotes some racial conflicts while advocating for other?
Listing all the incidents won’t ever complete as it exists till life does. People won’t miss a chance to advocate nor they’ll stop fueling the differences. Therefore the race of Race keeps going.
